Walking In Tears | 2 Corinthians 4:1–18 | Pastor Michael Naylor
What do we do when following Christ doesn't remove the tears?
In this powerful message, “Walking In Tears,” Pastor Michael Naylor takes us through 2 Corinthians 4:1–18, where the Apostle Paul reminds us that Christians are not promised a life without hardship, disappointment, suffering, or tears—but we are given something greater:
Hope that suffering cannot take away.
Paul writes:
“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” — 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 NKJV
There will be seasons when we walk through things we don't understand. There will be burdens that seem too heavy and circumstances that bring us to tears.
But Paul reminds us:
We may be pressed—but we're not crushed.
We may be perplexed—but we're not without hope.
We may be knocked down—but through Christ, we're not destroyed.
And when the journey becomes difficult, Paul tells us where to fix our eyes:
“For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” — 2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV
The tears are real.
The pain is real.
The struggle is real.
But so is our God.
And for the believer, what we see today is not the end of the story.
We invite you to worship with us at Pittman Grove Baptist Church — The Little Church with a Big Heart for God.
