When the Mountain Falls | Psalm 46:1–3 | Pastor Michael Naylor

Sunday, September 13, 2026

What do we do when something we thought could never fall suddenly comes crashing down?

In today’s message, “When the Mountain Falls,” Pastor Michael Naylor takes us to Psalm 46:1–3, where the psalmist reminds us that even when the earth changes, the mountains are carried into the sea, and everything around us seems to shake, God remains our refuge and strength.

This week our nation marked 25 years since September 11, 2001—a day when, in many ways, it felt as though our mountain had fallen. We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and a nation that watched what seemed impossible unfold before our eyes.

Yet Psalm 46 speaks directly into moments like these:

“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear…” — Psalm 46:1–2 NKJV

Mountains can fall.
Nations can be shaken.
Our health can change.
Loved ones can be taken from us.
The things we thought were permanent can disappear overnight.

But God does not move.

Join Pastor Michael Naylor and Pittman Grove Baptist Church as we remember, reflect, and discover where our faith must stand when the mountain falls.
